Common problems we fix in Dyce

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s usually the colour that dates them, not the condition.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom

What to look for in a quote

  • How the colour is matched
  • How the room is protected while they work
  • Who turns up on the day
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers

10 questions to ask before you book

Coloured bath resurfacing at your home in Dyce

A full suite is generally done in one to two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. Typical jobs include a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom, across coloured shower trays, avocado, pampas and pink baths and whole bathroom suites.

Every job is backed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

Why repair rather than replace?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white changes the colour with everything left in place. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Why book with us

  • Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Most jobs done in one visit

Read our prices page or resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

What a repair cannot fix

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

What we work on

  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Coloured basins
  • Whole bathroom suites

What we do, step by step

We work cleanly and quietly. We protect the area first, then the job itself takes one to two days for a full suite. At the end we talk you through how soon it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Each item is left to cure, usually ready the day after.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Ensure the area is dry

Getting a price

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price. There is no charge for the quote and you are under no obligation.

What affects the price in Dyce

Prices start from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Dyce. What changes the price is:

  • What the surface is made of
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Access to the area
  • How hard the colour is to match

A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Send pictures for a quote

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what to send:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Any details about the material
  • A wider photo showing the entire suite
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole suite, include your postcode and send them over. You will get a fixed quote, not an estimate.
