Tile repair in Dyce

Tile repair in Dyce, done in place

The tile stays where it is, so you do not need to find a spare. A loose or rocking tile may need relaying first, and we will say so. We regularly repair floor and wall tiles, marble and ceramic tiles, and the jobs we see most are discontinued tiles you can’t replace and cracked floor tiles.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Dyce as everywhere else we work. Avoid dropping heavy items on repaired floor tiles, and use a pH-neutral cleaner.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a tile means breaking it out, finding a match and risking the tiles around it. Repairing it leaves the tile where it is. Our tile repair starts from £95. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Why book with us

  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • No extra charge for your area

Dyce: your questions answered

Is there a call-out fee?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

How do I book?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Do you cover the whole of Aberdeen?

All of Aberdeen, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.

Can you fill holes left by old fittings?

Yes. We fill drill holes from removed fittings.

Will the price change on the day?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

What tile repair costs

Repairs from £95. Each job gets its own fixed price. This is what makes a difference:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. You will see the full price before booking.

How to get a fixed price

You can generally get a fixed price without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • A photo taken from further back
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

Upload photos of the damage and one of the entire item, with your AB21 postcode, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

The process

We work cleanly and quietly, so you can stay at home while we are there. We protect the area first, then the job itself takes a few hours. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to care for it.

  1. We start by cleaning the tile and clearing loose fragments.
  2. The chip, crack or hole is filled.
  3. We shape the repair flush with the tile.
  4. The colour and pattern are recreated by hand.
  5. Finally we seal it to match the tile.

Before we arrive

  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

How to get a price

You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.
