About our coloured bath resurfacing in Ford
We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. A full suite is usually done in one to two days. Our technicians work on whole bathroom suites, avocado, pampas and pink baths and coloured basins, and people most often call us about a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and selling or letting a home with an old suite.
Every job is backed for twelve months. We return to put right any problem with the work. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Ford: your questions answered
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
Generally, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
Do you cover the whole of Wiltshire?
We cover the entire UK, including Ford and the rest of Wiltshire. Send your postcode with your pictures and we’ll confirm dates.
Will it make a mess?
We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we have finished.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Of course, and it normally saves money. Send pictures of everything together and we will quote them together.
Is there a call-out fee?
We do not add a call-out fee. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.
Can pets and children be at home?
We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.
What happens after I send pictures?
You will get a fixed quote back. You are under no obligation.
When can you do it?
It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send photos with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.
What affects the price in Ford
Resurfacing from £350. You will know the full cost before you book. We take into account:
- The colour and finish to match
- Doing more than one item at once
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- The size and number of damaged areas
Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it.
Send photos for a quote
When you take your pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- Something in shot to show the size
- Details of any past repairs
- One sharp close-up of the damage
You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.
When we’d advise against a repair
Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair won’t do:
- The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
- Items cracked right through
- Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)
Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before booking.
Surfaces we repair
- Avocado, pampas and pink baths
- Whole bathroom suites
- Coloured shower trays
- Coloured basins
Common problems we fix in Ford
Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s typically the colour that dates them, not the condition.
Look out for these signs:
- Faded or patchy colour
- A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
- Selling or letting a home with an old suite
- A suite that does not match a new bathroom
Before you book anyone
- If travel is included in the price
- How soon you can use it again
- Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
- How long the guarantee is and what it covers
What happens on the day
We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you are not left guessing. On site, it takes a day or two, depending on how many items in most cases. The room is left tidy and you will know when it can be used.
- The room is protected and ventilated.
- We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
- We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
- We leave everything to cure, usually until the following day.
Getting ready for the visit
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
- Ensure the area is dry
Getting a price
No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.

Should you replace it?
Replacing a coloured suite involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white turns it white without taking anything out. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.
What you get with us
- Straight answers about what a repair can do
- CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
- We come to you, anywhere in the UK
- Dust sheets down, tidy finish

Should I try a DIY kit first?
If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.
