Coloured bath resurfacing in Great Strickland without replacing anything
Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. We regularly repair whole bathroom suites, coloured basins and avocado, pampas and pink baths, and people most often call us about faded or patchy colour and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom.
A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Repair or replace: which is better?
Replacing a coloured suite means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing changes the colour with everything left in place. Prices start from £350. Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

DIY kit or professional repair?
A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
The process
We turn up when we said we would and checks the damage against your pictures first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. The work itself takes a day or two, depending on how many items, and we leave the room as we found it.
- First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
- Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
- We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
- Once cured, normally by the following day, the suite is ready.
Getting ready for the visit
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
- Open a window if you can
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
Ask for a price
Upload pictures of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, and tell us you are in Great Strickland, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.
Related advice
Prices and what affects them
Resurfacing from £350. We price every job individually. What matters most is:
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- Access to the area
- The material
- How many areas need work
A repair generally costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.
Quotes from your photos
It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Try to send:
- Where you are, by postcode
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- Any details about the material
- A photo taken from further back
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the entire suite, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.
What we can’t put right
A repair is not always the answer, and we will tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:
- The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
- Items cracked right through
- Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)
Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.
What we work on
- Whole bathroom suites
- Avocado, pampas and pink baths
- Coloured shower trays
- Coloured basins
Common problems we fix in Great Strickland
Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s normally the colour that dates them, not the condition.
It’s worth getting a quote if you see:
- Selling or letting a home with an old suite
- A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
- A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
- Faded or patchy colour
What your quote should include
- What aftercare is recommended
- Who turns up on the day
- If travel is included in the price
- Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
Your questions about coloured bath resurfacing in Great Strickland
Is a repair better than a new one?
Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.
Do I need to be at home?
Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.
Do you hold any accreditations?
Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
Will it make a mess?
We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we have finished.
Is there a call-out fee?
Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.
Can you repair several things at once?
Of course, and it usually saves money. Just add the extra items to your pictures and you’ll get one combined price.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes, frequently. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.
Can a coloured bath be made white?
Yes. It’s resurfaced in white where it stands.
