Trusted coloured bath resurfacing in Northfield

Coloured bath resurfacing in Northfield without replacing anything

A full suite is usually done in one to two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there is no plumbing or tiling. If you are dealing with a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and selling or letting a home with an old suite, we can help.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

The process

Your technician turns up when we said we would and checks the damage against your pictures first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. Most visits take one to two days for a full suite, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
  5. We leave everything to cure, typically until the day after.

Before we arrive

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

What we are called out for in Northfield

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s generally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

The things customers usually mention when they call are:

  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour

Repair or replace: which is better?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white turns it white without taking anything out. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Why Northfield customers choose us

  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Straight answers about what a repair can do
  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • Everything repaired in place

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Prices start from £350. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The type of damage
  • How many areas need work
  • What the surface is made of

A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

How to get a fixed price

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To make it quick:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • The material, if you know it
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

Send us photos of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, and tell us you’re in Northfield, and we will reply with a fixed price.

What a repair can’t fix

Some jobs are not right for a repair, including:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Surfaces we repair

  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured basins
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Whole bathroom suites

DIY repairs versus a professional job

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.

For landlords and businesses

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Birmingham and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Northfield as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it typically costs far less than a refit.
