Coloured bath resurfacing for Old Town homes

Coloured bath resurfacing in Old Town without replacing anything

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there is no plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. If you’re dealing with faded or patchy colour and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white, we can help, on whole bathroom suites, coloured shower trays and avocado, pampas and pink baths alike.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

What affects the price in Old Town

Resurfacing from £350. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We take into account:

  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • The type of damage
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • How much damage there is

Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

How to get a fixed price

When you take your pictures, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

Email us photos of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your CR0 postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.

Should you replace it?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white turns it white with everything left in place. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why book with us

  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing

When a repair is not the answer

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured basins
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured shower trays

Work for landlords and builders

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Old Town use us as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

How the visit works

From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the job takes a day or two, depending on how many items, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Once cured, normally by the day after, the suite is ready.

How to prepare

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire suite, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

Related advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.

Common problems we fix in Old Town

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s typically the colour that dates them, not the condition.

People generally call us after spotting one of these:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

What to look for in a quote

  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
  • How soon you can use it again
  • How the room is protected while they work
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long

Questions from Old Town

Is there a call-out fee?

We do not add a call-out fee. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

Do I have to be there?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Typically, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Which areas do you work in?

Across the UK, so Old Town is covered. Prices do not change with location.

Will it make a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

Can you quote from photos?

Generally, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

What about the toilet?

Ask us. A toilet bowl is constantly wet, so we’ll advise honestly before quoting.

Can you turn my avocado bath white?

Yes. It’s resurfaced in white where it stands.
