Common questions in Ripple

What happens after I send photos?

You will get a fixed quote back, plus dates. You’re under no obligation.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

What about the toilet?

Ask us. A toilet bowl is constantly wet, so we’ll advise honestly before quoting.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Most of the time. Let us know what was used before.

Is there any odour?

A little, depending on the job. Open windows and an extractor fan help, and it soon fades.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders.

How much does coloured bath resurfacing cost in Ripple?

Prices start from £350. Every job gets a fixed price based on pictures of the damage. Send a close-up and a picture of the entire item and your postcode.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit normally costs less than separate visits. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Ripple

Most suites take one or two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. Whether it’s faded or patchy colour and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white, we can help.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

What affects the price in Ripple

Prices start from £350. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:

  • The material
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • The type of damage
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Send photos for a quote

Before you send pictures, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of pictures using our quote form or ring us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

Why repair rather than replace?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing changes the colour with everything left in place. Prices start from £350. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Why Ripple customers choose us

  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • A fixed quote before booking
  • Work done at your home or business

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Honest limits

Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured basins

Common problems we fix in Ripple

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. The problem is normally the colour, not the bath.

Keep an eye out for any of the following:

  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour

How to compare quotes

For landlords and businesses

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Ripple as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it normally costs far less than a refit.

Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

The process

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll take it from there. Most visits take one to two days for a full suite.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Each item is left to cure, normally ready the following day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

Getting a price

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. Quotes are free and no obligation.
