Wood floor repair for Wales homes

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. There’s no charge for travel to Wales. The price comes down to:

  • The type of damage
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Doing more than one item at once

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Quotes from your photos

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • A picture taken from further back

There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

About our wood floor repair in Wales

Laminate swollen by water cannot be repaired, and we will be honest about that. Boards are repaired where they lie, matched to the colour and grain. Whether it’s dents from dropped items and burns, we can generally put it right, whatever the material.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it. Use felt pads under furniture and wipe up spills promptly.

Why repair rather than replace?

Swapping a damaged board can mean lifting the floor back to it, finding a board that matches and laying it all again. Repairing it works with the boards in place. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why book with us

Wales: your questions answered

Does the room need clearing?

Just around the damaged area.

What do you need from me?

Photos of the damage, a picture of the entire floor and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.

Are there extra charges for Wales?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

What areas do you cover?

The entire UK, including all of Rotherham. Just include your postcode and we’ll offer you dates.

Do I have to be there?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.

How quickly can you book me in?

That depends on our diary for your area. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

Can pets and children be at home?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.

Do you work in Wales?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Wales for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Work for landlords and builders

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Rotherham and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we will handle the rest.

When we would advise against a repair

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • Laminate swollen along the joints by water
  • Boards that have lifted or warped
  • Underfloor damage

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Engineered wood
  • Solid wood
  • Wood-effect vinyl (ask us)
  • Laminate flooring

What we do, step by step

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, protect the area, and get on with the job, which generally takes a few hours. If we find something your pictures didn’t show, we’ll explain it before carrying on.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage.
  2. Next we fill the dents and chips.
  3. The repair is levelled to the board.
  4. The colour and grain are recreated by hand.
  5. We finish the repair to match the sheen of the floor.

Before we arrive

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

Advice

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
