What we are called out for in Wales

Most worktop damage takes a second: a hot pan put down without a trivet, or a heavy pan knocked against the edge. Scratches build up gradually from knives and grit.

If you can see any of these, send us a photo:

  • Damage from fitting or building work
  • A chipped edge
  • Gouges in the surface
  • A chipped quartz edge

About our worktop repair in Wales

Each type of worktop needs a different approach: laminate is filled and patterned, quartz and stone are filled and polished, and wood is sanded and refinished. The goal is always a repair that blends in. We regularly repair laminate, granite & marble and quartz, and common reasons people get in touch are gouges in the surface and snagging damage in a new kitchen.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Should you replace it?

An identical replacement may look different next to aged worktops. We match the repair to your worktop as it is today. Our worktop repair starts from £95. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

How we price worktop repair

Prices start from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We look at:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • How much damage there is
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The material

The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.

Quotes from your photos

Phone photos are fine. Just ensure we can see:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

To get a price, send two or three pictures through our quote form or ring us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

Questions from Wales

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Can you repair a chipped quartz worktop?

Yes. We repair quartz chips regularly, matched and polished.

Do you cover Wales?

Yes, we do. Repair technicians travel to Wales from across the region, with no extra charge for travel.

Do I have to be there?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time we agree with you.

How do I book?

Just pictures, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, access to the room.

How soon can you come?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Generally, yes. Let us know what was used before and we will plan for it.

What we can’t put right

A repair isn’t right for every job, for example:

  • A top that moves on its units
  • Water-swollen laminate
  • Discolouration deep in quartz

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before booking.

What we work on

  • Solid wood
  • Quartz
  • Granite & marble
  • Laminate
  • Solid surface (such as Corian)

DIY kit or professional repair?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

How it works

You don’t need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we are doing. Most jobs take a morning or an afternoon, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. First, we check the damage and the finish we need to match.
  2. Burnt or loose material is cut back.
  3. We fill and shape the damaged area.
  4. We recreate the pattern, flecks or grain.
  5. It’s finished to the same sheen and left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Getting a price

There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Landlord and trade work in Wales

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, photos and access details and we’ll arrange it.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.

Looking after it afterwards

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Chopping boards prevent scratches
  • Wipe up spills quickly
  • Keep a trivet by the hob
  • Steer clear of strong cleaners

Never put hot pans straight onto the worktop. Even stone and quartz can be marked by heat.

A chip on an edge can grow, and on laminate, water can get into the core. Repairing it early stops that.
