Wales: your questions answered
Do you cover the whole of Rotherham?
All of Rotherham, and the rest of the UK. There is no extra charge for travel.
Can you redo an old repair?
Yes. We take out the old repair and do it properly. Tell us about it when you send photos.
Will you leave a mess?
Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.
Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?
Yes, we often do. Removing the old work can add time, and that’s in the quote.
Can you quote from pictures?
Nearly always. If photos do not show enough, we will ask for another angle.
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include photos of each item.
Is repairing better than replacing?
Usually, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we will say so.
What happens if you find more damage?
We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.
Bath repair in Wales, done in place
It pays to repair bath damage while it’s small. Exposed metal on enamelled baths soon rusts, while cracks in acrylic grow each time the bath moves. Repairing it stops the damage getting worse. Our repair technicians work on cast iron enamel, roll-top & freestanding and pressed steel enamel, and common reasons people get in touch are cracks in an acrylic bath and deep scratches in acrylic.
We guarantee the work for a year. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £95. Each job gets its own fixed quote. This is what makes a difference:
- The type of damage
- The colour and finish to match
- The material and finish
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
Set against the cost of replacement, repairing typically costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.
How to get a fixed quote
Photographing the damage takes a minute. Try to send:
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- A photo taken from further back
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- Something in shot to show the size
Most customers in Wales get their price from pictures. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.
Different materials, different repairs
Pressed steel
Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
Acrylic
Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

How it works
Once we are through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. We mask off everything nearby, the job takes a few hours, depending on the damage, depending on what we find, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.
- We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
- We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
- We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
- We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
- We leave it to cure; you can generally use the bath the next day.
Getting ready for the visit
- Let us know about parking or access
- Keep a parking space free if you can
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
How to get a price
Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed quote without visiting.
Related advice
Should you replace it?
A new bath costs more than the bath itself: taking out the old one, plumbing, tiling, a panel and redecorating. With a repair, it’s one visit and one price. Prices start from £95. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.
Why book with us

Read our pricing or guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
Our work in Wales
Wales is about 6 miles north-east of Staveley, in Rotherham. Book a date that suits you, and we will give you an arrival time in advance, so you are not left waiting in all day. Wales is one of 71 towns and villages in Rotherham where we work. We work right across the region, from Wales to Leeds (about 34 miles away).
All of S26 is within our area, from the main roads to the quietest streets. Jobs here include addresses on Sycamore Avenue, Lodge Hill Drive and Old Quarry Avenue and the roads around them. We also cover the places around Wales: Kiveton Park (1 mile east), Woodall (1 mile south), Todwick (1 mile north-east), Harthill (2 miles south-east) and South Anston (2 miles east). Within a short drive, we also cover Rotherham (7 miles north-west), Rawmarsh (9 miles north), Maltby (7 miles north-east), Dinnington (4 miles north-east), Clifton (7 miles north-west) and Swinton (10 miles north).
What’s near Wales
We visit homes around Church of St John the Baptist, Wales Primary School and Wales High School, among other places. For rail, the closest station is Kiveton Bridge station, roughly 0.6 miles east. Other landmarks nearby include Crystal Peaks (2.9 miles west) and Rotherham General Hospital (5.6 miles north-west).
For landlords and businesses
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
For anyone letting property in or around Wales, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Send photos for each one and we’ll price them together.
What a repair cannot fix
In fairness, there are a few things a repair will not fix:
- Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
- A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
- A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

When to call us in Wales
Glass and heavy bottles cause more chips than anything else, closely followed by shower heads. Taps and wastes cause problems too: water collects there, so chips nearby rust quickly.
Look out for any of the following:
- Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
- Snagging damage from a refit
- Damage beneath the taps
- A chipped rim or side
Before booking anyone
- How your room will be protected
- Who turns up on the day
- If travel is included in the price
- What the guarantee covers, and for how long
