Bath & shower resealing (mastic) in Wales, Rotherham
Our repair technicians come to Wales for bath, shower and sink resealing with new mould-resistant silicone. Nothing is taken out, with a one-year guarantee.
- Gaps in the seal
- Black spots in the silicone
- Gaps by the taps

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Shower trays
Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.
Sinks and worktops
Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.
Bath resealing in Wales without replacing anything
A fresh seal protects your bathroom. Old, split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and a new seal stops it. We’re frequently asked to fix missing sealant behind the taps and silicone smeared on tiles, on wet rooms, kitchen worktops & sinks and basins & vanity units.
You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Wales as everywhere else we work.

What we’re called out for in Wales
Poor ventilation speeds things up: damp hangs around, and mould takes hold.
These are the problems we’re asked about most:
- A messy previous reseal
- Gaps in the seal
- Water getting behind the bath or tray
- Discoloured, yellow sealant
Before you book anyone
- How the colour is matched
- How soon you can use it again
- What happens if they find more damage
- A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
When a repair isn’t the answer
Some jobs are not right for a repair, for example:
- Movement in the bath or tray
- Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
- Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.
Surfaces we repair
- Basins & vanity units
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Wet rooms
- Baths
Is resealing worth it?
Putting new silicone over old does not last. It peels within weeks, and traps mould underneath. A proper reseal removes the old first. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You’ll see the full price before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Prices and what affects them
There is no area surcharge for Wales. What changes the price is:
- Whether we combine several jobs
- How hard the colour is to match
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- Access to the area
Compared with replacing, repairing generally costs far less, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
How to get a fixed price
Phone pictures are fine, there’s no need for anything special. Make sure they show:
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- Where you are, by postcode
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
We price from photos so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.
Wales: your questions answered
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and we’ll quote them together.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.
Do you seal over the old sealant?
No, we never seal over old silicone. It’s removed, cleaned off and the joint dried first.
How long does a reseal take?
Around two hours for a bath, plus curing time.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Yes, we often do. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.
What if the damage is worse than the photos show?
We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.
How long before I can shower?
Usually after around 24 hours. We confirm before we leave.
Why does the silicone keep cracking?
Typically because the bath or tray moves, or it was sealed with the bath empty. We seal baths full of water.
What we do, step by step
On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll take it from there. The job generally runs to around two hours.
- The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
- We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
- The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
- We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
- We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.

DIY repairs versus a professional job
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.
The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.
