Wood floor repair for Zeals homes

Wood floor repair in Zeals, done in place

Boards are repaired where they lie, with the colour and grain matched by hand. Water-swollen laminate needs replacing, and we’ll tell you if that’s the case. Whether it’s burns and gouges from moving appliances, we can typically put it right, on engineered wood, laminate flooring and wood-effect vinyl (ask us) alike.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover. Put felt pads on furniture legs and wipe spills straight away.

How it works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we’ve agreed what we are doing. It generally takes a few hours, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. We clean the damaged area.
  2. We fill dents, chips and gouges.
  3. We sand the repair flush with the board.
  4. We recreate the colour and grain by hand.
  5. Finally we match the sheen of the floor.

Before we arrive

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

For landlords and businesses

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Wiltshire and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Zeals use us as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

Our hiring checklist

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. You’ll see the full price before you book, with nothing added on the day.

How to get a fixed price

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:

  • One picture of the entire floor
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them over with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. Quotes are free and you are under no obligation.

Repairing versus replacing in Zeals

Replacing a board frequently means lifting boards to reach it, sourcing a matching board and laying it all again. A repair leaves the floor down. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
