Kitchen sink repair for The Common homes

The Common: your questions answered

What do you need from me?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we will do the rest.

Are there extra charges for The Common?

No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Is it messy?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we have finished.

Is there a guarantee?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

Do you cover The Common?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to The Common. Send photos and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is there any odour?

There can be some smell while we work, so we ventilate the room. It fades as everything cures.

Will the price change on the day?

If we find something the photos didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

Kitchen sink repair at your home in The Common

Repairs are matched to the original finish, so you do not need replacement parts. Doors with a large area of lifted vinyl typically need re-wrapping or replacing; we repair chips and dents. Typical jobs include chipped door and drawer edges and cracks around the waste, across vinyl-wrapped doors, ceramic Belfast & butler sinks and gloss and matt cupboard doors.

Every job is backed for twelve months in The Common and everywhere else. We return to put right any problem with the work. A sink mat protects against dropped pans, and dry the door edges after spills.

Repairing versus replacing in The Common

A new sink or door can mean disturbing the worktop, cabinets and plumbing, or finding a matching door that’s been discontinued. Repairing it keeps your kitchen as it is. Our kitchen sink repair starts from £95. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

Why us?

DIY kit or professional repair?

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

How the visit works

We begin by going over the job with you, so there are no surprises. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and the work begins. Allow a morning or an afternoon, and we will keep you posted as we go.

  1. We start by preparing the damage.
  2. Chips are filled and edges rebuilt.
  3. The repair is sanded to the original profile.
  4. We match the colour to the glaze or door.
  5. Finally we polish or seal it.

Preparing for the visit

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

Advice

Landlord and trade work in The Common

We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

What affects the price in The Common

Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including The Common. The price reflects:

  • How much damage there is
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Access to the area
  • Doing more than one item at once

There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Getting a price from photos

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A photo taken from further back
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

Email us pictures of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your NR20 postcode, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

Do you need kitchen sink repair in The Common?

Dropped pans chip ceramic sinks, and cupboard doors get knocked by chairs, bins and vacuum cleaners.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • Chipped door and drawer edges
  • Dents and scuffs on cabinets
  • Cracks around the waste
  • Chips in ceramic sinks

What your quote should include

  • How the colour is matched
  • When it can be used again
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • What preparation is included

What a repair can’t fix

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Doors where the vinyl wrap has lifted across a large area
  • Doors swollen by water
  • Sinks cracked through the base

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.

Surfaces we repair

  • Vinyl-wrapped doors
  • Ceramic Belfast & butler sinks
  • Composite sinks
  • Cabinet ends & plinths
  • Gloss and matt cupboard doors
