Non-slip bath coating for Abercorn homes

About our non-slip bath coating in Abercorn

It’s popular with older people, families and holiday lets. It’s a clear, textured coating, so the bath looks much the same. If you’re dealing with safety for older or less mobile people and resurfaced baths that are now too smooth, we can usually put it right, whatever the material.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover. A soft brush and mild cleaner keep it clean. Don’t use abrasive pads on the textured area.

The process

When we visit, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take a few hours. We clean up when we are done and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. We clean and degrease the standing area.
  2. The area to be treated is masked out.
  3. We put on the clear non-slip coating.
  4. The masking comes off to leave a neat edge.
  5. We leave it to cure, typically overnight.

Before we arrive

  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Advice

Repair or replace: which is better?

Instead, you could go for a new textured bath or tray, or relying on a mat that needs lifting and cleaning. A non-slip coating adds grip to the bath you have. A repair typically costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

What you get with us

  • Straight answers about what a repair can do
  • No extra charge for your area
  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • Normally one visit, start to finish

Take a look at our pricing.

Can I fix it myself?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

For landlords and businesses

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

If you manage property in Abercorn, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send pictures for each address and we will come back with a combined price.

What we’re called out for in Abercorn

Smooth surfaces are easy to clean, but with soap and water on them they become slippery. The textured patch on an older bath also wears down over time.

If you can see any of these, send us a photo:

  • Bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten
  • Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth
  • Worn-out textured areas
  • A bath or tray that is slippery when wet

What affects the price in Abercorn

You won’t pay by the hour. The price depends on:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • What the surface is made of
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • The size and number of damaged areas

We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Quotes from your pictures

Two or three clear photos are generally enough. It helps if you send:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • One picture of the entire bath or shower tray
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • The material, if you know it

Upload pictures of the damage and one of the entire item, with your EH30 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.
