Signs you need non-slip bath coating in Alves

Baths and trays are made smooth so they’re easy to clean, but with soap and water on them they become slippery. The textured patch on an older bath also wears down over time.

Send us a photo if you notice any of these:

  • Safety for older or less mobile people
  • Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth
  • Worn-out textured areas
  • A bath or tray that is slippery when wet

What to look for in a quote

  • Who will actually do the work
  • How to care for the finish
  • How soon you can use it again
  • What protection goes down before work starts

Non-slip bath coating in Alves without replacing anything

The coating is clear and textured, so it shows only as a slightly matt area where you stand. It suits homes with older or less mobile people, holiday lets and families. We work on wet room floors (ask us), shower trays and acrylic baths, and people most frequently call us about bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten and resurfaced baths that are now too smooth.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back. A soft brush and mild cleaner keep it clean. Do not use abrasive pads on the textured area.

What happens on the day

Here’s how a visit normally runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, do the job and clear up. Plan for a few hours from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. First the standing area is cleaned and degreased.
  2. Next we mask off the area.
  3. We apply the clear textured coating.
  4. We remove the masking for a neat edge.
  5. The coating is left to cure before use, typically overnight.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Make sure the area is dry

DIY repairs versus a professional job

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

When a repair isn’t the answer

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Shower trays
  • Acrylic baths
  • Wet room floors (ask us)
  • Resurfaced baths
  • Enamelled baths

What non-slip bath coating costs

Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:

  • What the surface is made of
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • How much damage there is
  • Unusual colours or finishes

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Quotes from your photos

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. Quotes are free and no obligation.

For landlords and businesses

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

Alves: your questions answered

Is a non-slip bath easy to clean?

Yes. Use a soft brush and a mild cleaner.

Are there extra charges for Alves?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Nearly always. If pictures don’t show enough, we will ask for another angle.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit usually costs less than separate visits. Include photos of each item.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

How do I book?

Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Most of the time. Tell us what was done before.

How soon can you come?

That depends on our diary for your area. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

Should you replace it?

Instead, you could go for a new textured bath or tray, or a bath mat, which traps water and needs cleaning. A non-slip coating adds grip to the bath you have. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
