Non-slip bath coating near Blackbridge

How we handle non-slip bath coating in Blackbridge

It’s a clear, textured coating, so the bath looks much the same. It suits homes with older or less mobile people, holiday lets and families. Our technicians work on shower trays, acrylic baths and enamelled baths, and people most frequently call us about worn-out textured areas and resurfaced baths that are now too smooth.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back. A soft brush and mild cleaner keep it clean. Avoid scourers on the coating.

Repairing versus replacing in Blackbridge

Instead, you could go for replacing the bath or tray with a textured one, or relying on a mat, which traps water and needs cleaning. A non-slip coating adds grip to the bath you have. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Why us?

  • Work done at your home or business
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job

How the visit works

Your technician turns up when we said we would, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your photos first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. The work itself takes a morning or an afternoon, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. First the standing area is cleaned and degreased.
  2. The area to be treated is masked out.
  3. The clear textured coating is applied.
  4. We remove the masking for a neat edge.
  5. The coating is left to cure before use, normally overnight.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

How to get a price

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.

Advice

Questions from Blackbridge

Will you leave a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

What happens next?

We come back with a fixed quote, generally with dates to choose from. There’s no obligation to book.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit generally costs less than separate visits. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

Can pets and children be at home?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.

What areas do you cover?

Across the UK, so Blackbridge is covered. Prices do not change with location.

Are there extra charges for Blackbridge?

We do not add a call-out fee. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

What does non-slip bath coating cost?

The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from pictures. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

What a repair can’t fix

A repair is not right for every job, for example:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Wet room floors (ask us)
  • Enamelled baths
  • Resurfaced baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Shower trays

How we price non-slip bath coating

We price every job individually. The main factors are:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • How many areas need work
  • The material

Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Getting a price from photos

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • One picture of the whole bath or shower tray
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three pictures using our quote form or call us. We will say right away whether it can be repaired.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

Common problems we fix in Blackbridge

Baths and trays are made smooth so they’re easy to clean, yet with soap and water on them they become slippery. Textured areas on older baths wear smooth too.

Look out for any of the following:

  • Worn-out textured areas
  • A bath or tray that is slippery when wet
  • Safety for older or less mobile people
  • Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth

Landlord and trade work in Blackbridge

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Isle of Anglesey and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
