Non-slip bath coating for Come-to-Good homes

How it works

The work is clean and fairly quiet. We protect the area first, then the work takes a morning or an afternoon. Before we leave, we explain the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. We clean and degrease the standing area.
  2. We mask out the area to be treated.
  3. We apply the clear textured coating.
  4. The masking comes off to leave a neat edge.
  5. Once it has cured, normally overnight, it’s ready.

About our non-slip bath coating in Come-to-Good

The coating is clear and textured, so it shows only as a slightly matt area where you stand. It suits older people, families and holiday lets. We’re often asked to fix a bath or tray that is slippery when wet and worn-out textured areas, on resurfaced baths, wet room floors (ask us) and enamelled baths.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months in Come-to-Good and everywhere else. We return to put right any problem with the work. Clean with a soft brush and a mild cleaner. Do not use abrasive pads on the textured area.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Repair or replace in Come-to-Good?

The alternatives are a new textured bath or tray, or a bath mat, which traps water and needs cleaning. A coating treats your existing bath or tray. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. You’ll see the full price before you book.

How we price non-slip bath coating

We give every job a fixed price from photos. This is what makes a difference:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Access to the area
  • The material and finish
  • Doing more than one item at once

Compared with replacing, repairing generally costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Quotes from your pictures

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • One picture of the entire bath or shower tray

You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

Come-to-Good: your questions answered

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Typically, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Of course, and it normally saves money. Send pictures of everything together and you’ll get one combined price.

What happens after I send pictures?

You’ll get a fixed quote back. You are under no obligation.

Do you charge for travel?

There’s no separate call-out charge. Your fixed price includes everything.

How quickly can you book me in?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

Does someone need to be in?

We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Is the work guaranteed?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

When we would advise against a repair

We would rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before you book.
