Need non-slip bath coating in Tai-Drill?

Repairing versus replacing in Tai-Drill

The alternatives are replacing the bath or tray with a textured one, or a bath mat, which traps water and needs cleaning. A non-slip coating adds grip to the bath you have. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Why us?

  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • A year’s guarantee on all work

Non-slip bath coating at your home in Tai-Drill

It’s popular with older people, families and holiday lets. The coating is clear and textured, so it shows only as a slightly matt area where you stand. If you are dealing with worn-out textured areas and a bath or tray that is slippery when wet, we can normally put it right, on shower trays, resurfaced baths and wet room floors (ask us) alike.

Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee. Clean with a soft brush and a mild cleaner. Avoid scourers on the coating.

Can I fix it myself?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

What we do, step by step

We begin by going over the job with you, so there are no surprises. Then the area is sheeted and masked and we start. Allow a few hours, and we will keep you posted as we go.

  1. First the standing area is cleaned and degreased.
  2. Next we mask off the area.
  3. We apply the clear textured coating.
  4. The masking comes off to leave a neat edge.
  5. The coating is left to cure before use, generally overnight.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Open a window if you can
  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

For landlords and businesses

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Flintshire and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Honest limits

We would rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so these are the limits:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Acrylic baths
  • Shower trays
  • Resurfaced baths
  • Wet room floors (ask us)
  • Enamelled baths

What non-slip bath coating costs

You will not pay by the hour. The price depends on:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • Access to the area
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Unusual colours or finishes

We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Quotes from your photos

Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • A picture taken from further back
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job without visiting.
