Non-slip bath coating at your home in Trench
It’s popular with older people, families and holiday lets. It’s a clear, textured coating, so it shows only as a slightly matt area where you stand. We work on acrylic baths, wet room floors (ask us) and shower trays, and the jobs we see most are safety for older or less mobile people and bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten.
All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back. A soft brush and mild cleaner keep it clean. Do not use abrasive pads on the textured area.

Repairing versus replacing in Trench
The alternatives are replacing the bath or tray with a textured one, or a bath mat that needs lifting and cleaning. A non-slip coating adds grip to the bath you have. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Questions from Trench
What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?
It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.
Is there a call-out fee?
No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
Usually, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one.
Do you hold any accreditations?
We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.
Do you do work for letting agents?
Yes, frequently. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.
What information do you need?
Photos of the damage, a photo of the entire bath or shower tray and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Just add the extra items to your pictures and we will quote them together.
Do I have to be there?
Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.
The process
Once we are through the door, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the job takes a few hours, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.
- We clean and degrease the standing area.
- We mask out the area to be treated.
- We apply the clear textured coating.
- We remove the masking for a neat edge.
- The coating is left to cure before use, generally overnight.
Getting ready for the visit
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
Ask for a price
No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.
Advice
When we would advise against a repair
In fairness, some problems need a different fix:
- Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
- Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
- Outdoor surfaces
Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.
Surfaces we repair
- Enamelled baths
- Wet room floors (ask us)
- Acrylic baths
- Shower trays
- Resurfaced baths
DIY repairs versus a professional job
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.
What non-slip bath coating costs
We charge the same across the UK, including Trench. What changes the price is:
- What kind of damage it is
- How many items we do on one visit
- How much damage there is
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
Getting a price from photos
Most quotes are done from photos alone. To make it quick:
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- A picture taken from further back
There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.
