How bath repair works in B2
We repair just the damaged spot and colour-match it to the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath. You can usually use the bath the following day. Common call-outs are for chips under the taps and rusty patches near the plughole, across roll-top & freestanding, whirlpool & spa baths and acrylic.
On the day, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take two to three hours for most chips. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.
- We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
- We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
- We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
- Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
- We leave it to cure; you can normally use the bath the day after.
Cost
Our bath repair starts from £95. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for B2. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Keeping it looking good
Nothing complicated is needed:
- Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
- Store metal items away from the bath
- If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
- Do not leave a fresh chip for long
Leave the repair to cure for as long as we say before using the bath. From then on, mild cleaning is all it needs.
Rust under enamel spreads surprisingly quickly. Left for months, a small chip can grow into a large rust patch, so early repair keeps the cost down.
Can I fix it myself?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
Different materials, different repairs
Acrylic
Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
Cast iron
Cast iron is heavy and rigid, with a fused enamel surface. Chips can rust if left, but the bath itself lasts for generations, so it’s always worth repairing.
Repairing versus replacing
A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: tiles along the rim generally crack when it comes out, a new panel is frequently needed, and the plumbing has to be disconnected and refitted. Repairing the damage avoids all of that.
What your quote should include
- What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show
- Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
- What aftercare is recommended
- Who turns up on the day
FAQs for B2
Is a bath repair durable?
Yes, if it’s prepared properly and the bath is sound. It’s covered by our one-year guarantee.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we’re working in. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.
Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?
Yes, we often do. Removing the old work can add time, and that is in the quote.
Can you fix rust around the plughole?
Yes, it’s one of the most common repairs we do. We take it back to sound metal, seal it, fill it and match the colour.
Will the price change on the day?
Your quote covers the damage in the photos. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.
Is repairing better than replacing?
Normally, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
Will the repair show?
On a glossy bath, you’ll struggle to find it. On older, dull enamel the repair can look glossier than the area around it.
