Bath repair at your home in LS26

We repair just the damaged spot and colour-match it to the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath and the tiles around it. Most baths can be used again the next day. We regularly repair acrylic, cast iron enamel and pressed steel enamel, and common reasons people get in touch are a kit repair that didn’t last and chips under the taps.

Visits start with a quick look at the job together. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and the work begins. It normally takes two to three hours for most chips, and we’ll keep you posted as we go.

  1. First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

What’s near Rothwell

Typical jobs here are in homes near Stepping Stones pub, Holy Trinity Church of England Academy and Holy Trinity Church and the streets around them. You will also find Royds School (1.2 miles south-east) and Springhead Park (under half a mile south-east). The nearest railway station is Woodlesford station, about 1.3 miles east of the centre. Nearby you will also find Leeds Discovery Centre (3.4 miles north-west) and Rothwell Castle (less than half a mile south-west). Not far away are St Aidan's and Lemonroyd Lake.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.

Should you replace it?

When the bath is otherwise sound, repairing beats replacing. It’s quicker, cheaper and far less disruptive, and you keep the bath you chose. Where the whole surface is tired, we may suggest re-enamelling instead.

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. There is no area surcharge for LS26. The price reflects:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • What the surface is made of
  • How many areas need work

Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Getting a price from pictures

You can normally get a fixed price without us visiting. To make it quick:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Any details about the material
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath

You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

Repairs by material

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. They don’t rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

What we’re called out for in LS26

Nearly all the chips we see start with something being dropped: bottles, shower heads, tiles and tools. On steel and cast iron baths, any chip down to the metal lets water in, and rust follows.

Common reasons people in LS26 contact us are:

  • A cracked acrylic bath
  • A chip where the taps sit
  • Snagging damage from a refit
  • Rusty patches near the plughole

Questions from LS26

Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?

Generally, yes, if we can reach the underside to reinforce it. Check under the bath panel, or send us a photo.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Just add the extra items to your photos and we will quote them together.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes, for a year. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Is it messy?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.

What happens if you find more damage?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Can you repair a hole in a bath?

Typically, yes, if we can reach behind it. We back the hole, fill it and refinish the surface.
