How bath repair works in MK9
Most bath damage, from chips and cracks to rust spots and holes, can be repaired with the bath left exactly where it is. Nothing is unplumbed, the tiles are not touched, and the finish is matched to the rest of the bath. Common call-outs are for hairline or through cracks in acrylic and rusty patches near the plughole, across acrylic, pressed steel enamel and whirlpool & spa baths.
You don’t need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. It normally takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and you can get on with other things while we are there.
- First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
- Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
- We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
- We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
- We leave it to cure; you can typically use the bath the day after.

Getting a price
A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.
Around Loughton
We visit homes around Denbigh School, All Saints Church and The Kensington pub, among other places. You will also find South Loughton Valley park (0.7 miles south-east) and Loughton Manor First School (under half a mile west). There is a railway station in Loughton itself: Milton Keynes Central station. Further afield, we also cover the area around Bradwell Motte (1.1 miles north) and Badminton Museum (less than half a mile north-west). For a walk, there’s Blue Lagoon Park and Lodge Lake.
How we price bath repair
Repairs from £95. We give every job a fixed quote from photos. This is what makes a difference:
- What the surface is made of
- How hard the colour is to match
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- How many items we do on one visit
A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. You will see the full price before you book.
Getting a price from photos
Before you send pictures, these tips help us give you a firm price:
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- Something in shot to show the size
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- Any details about the material
Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job.
Work for landlords and builders
Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.
Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.
Keeping it looking good
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Store metal items away from the bath
- A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
- Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
- Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
Treat the repaired area like the rest of the bath: warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Keep scouring pads and gritty cleaners away from it.
Tape over a fresh chip or crack until it’s repaired, so water cannot get in. Remove it before the repair.
Should you replace it?
Think about the hidden costs of a new bath: taking out the old one, plumbing, tiling, a panel and redecorating. With a repair, it’s one visit and one price.

DIY repairs versus a professional job
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.
Common questions in MK9
Can landlords book you?
Yes, frequently. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Typically, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
What areas do you cover?
All of Milton Keynes, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.
Is a bath repair permanent?
It should, as long as the bath is firm and the area was prepared well. It carries our one-year guarantee.
Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?
Generally, yes, if we can reach behind it. We back the hole, fill it and refinish the surface.
Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?
Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.
Will it make a mess?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.
