Bath repair at your home in MK12

Most bath damage, from chips and cracks to rust spots and holes, can be repaired with the bath left exactly where it is. Nothing is unplumbed, your tiles stay as they are, and the repaired area is colour-matched so it blends in. Common call-outs are for damage beneath the taps and cracks in an acrylic bath, on acrylic, cast iron enamel and pressed steel enamel.

We work cleanly and quietly, so you can carry on at home. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes a few hours. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to care for it.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, normally the next day.

What you will pay

Prices start from £95. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

How the damage happens

A bath gets knocked about more than you’d think: everyday items get dropped into it all the time, and fittings press hard against the enamel. Sooner or later, most baths pick up a chip.

Contact us if you’ve noticed any of these:

  • A failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting
  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
  • Holes from dropped items
  • Rusty patches near the plughole

When we would advise against a repair

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet

Repairs by material

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

How we price bath repair

Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including MK12. The price reflects:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Access to the area
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send pictures and we will give you the exact figure.

Quotes from your pictures

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • The material, if you know it
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Something in shot to show the size

Upload a picture of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, and tell us you are in MK12, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

FAQs for MK12

Can you price it without visiting?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.

Can you repair a hole in a bath?

Frequently, if there’s access underneath. The hole is backed, filled and refinished to match.

How do I book?

Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, access to the room.

Can pets and children be at home?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

In most cases. The old repair comes out first.

What areas do you cover?

Across the UK, and that includes MK12. Our prices are the same everywhere.

Will it make a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we have finished.
