Bath repair across ML12: what to expect
You don’t need a new bath because of a chip. We fill the damage, shape it to the curve of the bath and refinish it, mixing the colour on the day. Typical jobs include chips caused by builders and a chipped rim or side, across whirlpool & spa baths, roll-top & freestanding and cast iron enamel.
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we’ve agreed what we are doing. It usually takes a few hours, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- We protect the bath and the floor around it.
- The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
- We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the day after.
Pricing in ML12
Our bath repair starts from £95. A repair generally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Getting a price
Most clients in ML12 get their price from pictures. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.
Near you in Biggar
Locally, our jobs take us to homes close to Biggar Church, Biggar High School and Little Mitchellwood. Other landmarks nearby include Biggar Castle (less than half a mile west) and Biggar Albion Museum (under half a mile north). The countryside around Biggar includes Chapelgill Hill.
Work for landlords and builders
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Composite and resin
Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, in much the same way.
Acrylic
Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. They don’t rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.
Keeping it looking good
It’s all simple stuff:
- Give the bath a quick rinse after use
- Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it
- Have new chips seen to early
- Store metal items away from the bath
Treat the repaired area like the rest of the bath: warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Keep scouring pads and gritty cleaners away from it.
If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Each time it flexes, the crack grows, and water can get through to the floor below.
Repair or replace?
Replacing a fitted bath usually means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and getting rid of the old bath. A repair deals only with the damage in one visit.
What your quote should include
- Whether a trained technician does the job
- How long it needs to cure
- Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
- What aftercare is recommended
Prices and what affects them
Repairs from £95. You will not pay by the hour. The price depends on:
- Doing more than one item at once
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- Access to the area
- The colour and finish to match
Compared with replacing, repairing normally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
Send pictures for a quote
Phone pictures are fine, there is no need for anything special. Just make sure we can see:
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- A wider photo showing the entire bath
- Something in shot to show the size
- What it’s made of, if you know
You don’t need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.
ML12 questions
How quickly can you book me in?
It depends on the time of year and where you are. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.
What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?
We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.
Are you accredited?
Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
Is there a guarantee?
Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.
How invisible is a bath repair?
The goal is a repair that blends in. How well it disappears depends on the condition of the rest of the bath.
What areas do you cover?
Everywhere in the UK, ML12 included. There is no extra charge for travel.
Do I need to be at home?
Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.
