How bath repair works in PA35
You don’t need a new bath because of a chip. We fill the damage, shape it to the curve of the bath and refinish it, with the colour mixed on site so the repair is hard to spot. We work on whirlpool & spa baths, roll-top & freestanding and pressed steel enamel, and the jobs we see most are a chip where the taps sit and hairline or through cracks in acrylic.
We begin by going over the job with you. Then the area is sheeted and masked and the work begins. It normally takes two to three hours for most chips, and we will tell you if anything changes.
- Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
- We clean, key and degrease the damage.
- Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
- We match both the colour and the shine.
- We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.
Cost
Our bath repair starts from £95. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
What you get with us

Local landmarks in Taynuilt
We visit homes around Kilespikeral Old Parish Church and the streets around them. Taynuilt has its own railway station: Taynuilt station. Other landmarks nearby include Loch Tromlee (4.6 miles south-east). Green spaces nearby include Loch Tromlee.
Can I fix it myself?
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.
Work for landlords and builders
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.
Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in PA35 use us as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.
When a repair is not the answer
A repair isn’t always the answer, and we would rather say so up front. We can’t fix:
- A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
- Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below
- Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.
Aftercare tips
Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts. Here’s what we suggest:
- Do not scrub with anything abrasive
- Ensure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
- A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
- Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
Look after the repair the same way as the bath: a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs. Avoid scourers and gritty cream cleaners.
If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath. Water under the bath can damage the floor and the ceiling below.
Common questions in PA35
Can you redo an old repair?
Yes. We take out the old repair and do it properly. Mention it when you send pictures.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Nearly always. If photos don’t show enough, we will ask for another angle.
What happens once I’ve sent pictures?
We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote and the next dates we have.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so mention it when you send photos.
When can I have a bath again?
Most baths can be used the day after. We’ll tell you the exact curing time when we finish.
Is it messy?
We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.
