Bath repair at your home in PL1
Most of our bath repairs take a few hours, and the bath is back in use the following day. There’s no need to book a plumber or tiler, because nothing is disconnected. Common call-outs are for a chipped rim or side and a hole punched through by something heavy, on pressed steel enamel, roll-top & freestanding and cast iron enamel.
When we visit, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take a few hours, depending on the damage. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.
- First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
- We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
- We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
- We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
- The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the following day.
What it costs in PL1
Prices start from £95. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

What’s near Stonehouse
Our clients here include homes close to Devonport Library, City College Plymouth and High Street Primary Academy. Other local landmarks include Church of St Andrew (less than half a mile north), Devonport High School for Boys (under half a mile north), Stonehouse Creek (less than half a mile north-west) and Brewery Tap (within half a mile south). For rail, the closest station is Devonport station, roughly 0.6 miles north-west of the centre. A little further out are Plymouth Castle (1.3 miles east) and Armada Centre (0.8 miles east). Not far away are Penlee Battery.
What we’re called out for in PL1
A cracked acrylic bath generally wasn’t supported properly. Legs that are not adjusted, a missing cradle or a soft floor let the base flex.
You may need us if you’ve spotted:
- Snagging damage from a refit
- An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
- Impact holes in acrylic
- Rusty patches near the plughole
DIY kit or professional repair?
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
When we’d advise against a repair
We would rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:
- Metal that has corroded all the way through
- A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
- Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
What bath repair costs
Repairs from £95. We give every job a fixed quote from pictures. These are the things that affect it:
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- The material
- How many areas need work
- Doing more than one item at once
The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.
Send photos for a quote
Most quotes are done from photos alone. To help us price it:
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- Any details about the material
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them to us with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed price back. Quotes are free and you’re under no obligation.
Should you replace it?
Replacing a fitted bath typically means a plumber, removing the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and disposing of the old one. A repair fixes just the damaged area in one visit.

FAQs for PL1
What if the damage is worse than the photos show?
If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.
When can I have a bath again?
Most baths can be used the following day. We will tell you the exact curing time when we finish.
Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?
Yes. We mix the colour on the day to match, including older coloured suites.
How invisible is a bath repair?
We aim for a repair you can’t easily find. The rest of the bath’s condition makes a difference, and we’ll tell you what to expect.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.
Do I have to be there?
We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.
Which areas do you work in?
We cover the entire UK, including PL1 and the rest of Cornwall. Send your postcode with your pictures and we’ll offer you dates.
