Bath repair at your home in PR26

A repair fixes just the damaged area and blends it into the rest of the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath. You can usually use the bath the day after. We regularly repair whirlpool & spa baths, cast iron enamel and acrylic, and common reasons people contact us are deep scratches in acrylic and chips caused by builders.

We begin by going over the job with you, so you know exactly what we’re doing. After that, protection goes down around the work area and the work begins. Allow a few hours, depending on the damage.

  1. First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

What it costs in PR26

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.

How we price bath repair

Prices start from £95. We do not charge extra for travel to PR26. The price comes down to:

  • How much damage there is
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The type of damage
  • How hard the colour is to match

We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for PR26. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Getting a price from pictures

You can take the pictures on your phone, there is no need for anything special. Just ensure we can see:

  • A wider photo showing the entire bath
  • Any details about the material
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire bath, we can give you a fixed quote the same day in most cases.

How to care for the repair

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:

  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
  • Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth

Care for the repair the same way as the bath: warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Keep scouring pads and gritty cleaners away from it.

Stop using the bath if a crack lets water through until it’s repaired. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.

Can I fix it myself?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.

Signs you need bath repair

Rust tends to begin where water collects, by the plughole, beneath dripping taps or in an unrepaired chip. Once water reaches the steel or iron, rust spreads under the enamel.

Most people get in touch when they notice one of these:

  • A chip where the taps sit
  • Cracks in an acrylic bath
  • Scratches you can feel with a fingernail
  • Chips along the edge of the bath

PR26: your questions answered

What do you need from me?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

Which areas do you work in?

Across the UK, and that includes PR26. Prices do not change with location.

Do the materials smell?

It depends on the job, but often a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.

Is my repair covered?

Yes: twelve months. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Can you quote from pictures?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.
