Bath repair at your home in TS15

Most bath damage, from chips and cracks to rust spots and holes, can be repaired with the bath left exactly where it is. There’s no plumbing to disconnect, your tiles stay as they are, and the finish is matched to the rest of the bath. Common call-outs are for hairline or through cracks in acrylic and snagging damage from a refit, on acrylic, pressed steel enamel and roll-top & freestanding.

Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you know when to expect us. Once we are there, the work takes a few hours, depending on the damage. We leave the room clean and you will know when it can be used.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

Why repair rather than replace?

A new bath costs more than the bath itself: taking out the old one, plumbing, tiling, a panel and redecorating. A repair is one job, done in one visit.

Questions to ask before booking

  • Who turns up on the day
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • How the room is protected while they work
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price

Honest limits

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
  • A steel bath rusted through

Different materials, different repairs

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Cast iron

Cast iron is heavy and rigid, finished with fired enamel. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, which makes it well worth repairing.

Keeping it looking good

Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:

  • Do not scrub with anything abrasive
  • Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
  • Check that an acrylic bath does not move when you stand in it

Use gentle, non-abrasive cleaners and try not to drop heavy bottles on the repair. Deal with new chips early, before rust sets in.

If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Each time it flexes, the crack grows, and water can get through to the floor below.

TS15 questions

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

I tried a repair kit. Can you fix it?

Yes. We take out the old repair and do it properly. Mention it when you send pictures.

What happens next?

You get a fixed quote and available dates. If we need another angle, we will ask.

Do you come to TS15?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and travel to TS15 and the rest of Stockton-on-Tees. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Will I be able to see the repair?

The goal is a repair that blends in. The rest of the bath’s condition makes a difference, and we’ll tell you what to expect.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Yes, we often do. Removing the old work can add time, and that is in the quote.

Can tenants book a repair?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.
