About our shower tray repair in Blacksmith's Corner
Before repairing a crack, we find out why it happened. If the tray moves, the support is fixed or flagged before we repair it, so the crack doesn’t come back. Our repair technicians work on acrylic, enamelled steel and ceramic, and common reasons people get in touch are chips or cracks by the plughole and chips on the edges.
You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will come back.

Looking after it afterwards
Simple care helps the repair last. We recommend:
- Do not stand heavy bottles on the tray
- Don’t use strong acids or bleach
- Clean with washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
- Get a moving tray checked
Rinse the tray after use, clean with mild cleaners, and keep the sealant in good condition so water cannot get underneath.
Act on split sealant early. It lets water behind the tray and can damage the floor below.
Work for landlords and builders
We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we’ll handle the rest.
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.
Repairs by material
Ceramic
Ceramic gives a hard, high-gloss surface. Impacts can chip or crack them, and the repair is polished to match the shine.
Acrylic
Acrylic-capped trays are lighter, so good support matters. We repair cracks and scratches.
What we do, step by step
We work cleanly and quietly, so you can stay at home while we are there. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes a few hours for a repair, longer for a full resurface. At the end we talk you through how soon it can be used and how to look after it.
- First, we check whether the tray moves.
- We clean the damage and open it up so the repair can bond.
- We reinforce any crack and fill the damage.
- We shape the repair, match the colour and finish it.
- We leave it to cure, normally until the following day.
Before we arrive
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
Getting a price
For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.
Advice
Common problems we fix in Blacksmith's Corner
Stone resin trays are rigid, so they crack rather than bend if the floor beneath them isn’t flat and fully supported. Movement in a timber floor has the same effect.
Send us a picture if you notice any of these:
- Chips on the edges
- A tray that looks tired however much you clean it
- Damage around the waste
- Cracks running from the waste
Before booking anyone
- Whether the colour is mixed to match
- Whether a trained technician does the job
- What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
- If travel is included in the price
Repair or replace in Blacksmith's Corner?
If the tray is solid and the crack hasn’t let water spread, repair is typically best. If the floor is damaged or the tray is badly cracked, replacement may make more sense. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

How we price shower tray repair
Repairs from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Blacksmith's Corner. What changes the price is:
- What the surface is made of
- The size and number of damaged areas
- The colour and finish to match
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Blacksmith's Corner. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
How to get a fixed price
The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- The material, if you know it
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
To get a price, send two or three pictures through our quote form or call us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.
