Shower tray repair for Egypt homes

What your shower tray is made of matters

Enamelled steel

Enamelled steel trays behave like steel baths. Chips can rust if they’re left, so early repairs help.

Ceramic

Ceramic gives a hard, high-gloss surface. They chip and crack from impact, and the repair is polished to match the shine.

Shower tray repair at your home in Egypt

Stone resin, acrylic and ceramic trays can all be repaired, or resurface the whole tray if it’s worn. The tray stays in place, so the enclosure and tiles aren’t disturbed. If you are dealing with scuffs and light scratches and a tray that creaks or moves underfoot, we can help.

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

Keeping it looking good

How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Rinse the tray after each shower
  • Ventilate the room after showers
  • Use a mild, non-abrasive cleaner
  • Store bottles off the tray

Check the silicone around the tray every few months, and replace it when it splits or goes black.

If the tray creaks or moves, get it checked, before it cracks or gets worse.

Cracks often start at the waste, where the tray is cut and the fitting is tightened.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Chipped corners or rims
  • A dull, stained or worn surface
  • A tray that flexes
  • Damage from a refit or building work

What shower tray repair costs

Prices start from £95. We price every job individually. The main factors are:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The material and finish
  • Access to the area

Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Send photos for a quote

Phone pictures are fine, there is no need for anything special. Ensure they show:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Any details about the material
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them to us with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed quote back. There is no charge for the quote and no obligation.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

Honest limits

It helps to know what we can’t do too:

  • A tray that moves underfoot
  • Multiple cracks across the tray
  • Plumbing leaks under the tray

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Enamelled steel
  • Cast iron
  • Acrylic
  • Ceramic
  • Stone resin

Why repair rather than replace?

A new shower tray generally means taking out the enclosure and tiles, relaying the base and tiling again. A repair or resurface keeps all of that in place. Prices start from £95. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Why book with us

  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • Everything repaired in place

What we do, step by step

Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your pictures first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. The work itself takes a few hours, or most of a day for a full resurface, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. First, we check whether the tray moves.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned and opened up.
  3. We reinforce any crack and fill the damage.
  4. We shape the repair, match the colour and finish it.
  5. It’s left to cure, typically until the day after.

Before we arrive

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

Questions from Egypt

Do you work in Egypt?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Egypt. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

We review the pictures and send a fixed quote.

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

When can I use the shower again?

You’ll get the exact time when we finish, generally the following day.

What happens if you find more damage?

We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Typically, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Do you redo the sealant?

Yes. Add it to your quote and we will do both on one visit.

Do the materials smell?

There can be some smell while we work, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the materials cure.
