Shower tray repair for Fovant homes

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a tray generally means refitting the screen, retiling and resealing. A repair leaves all of that untouched and costs far less. Prices start from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Shower tray repair at your home in Fovant

Stone resin, acrylic and ceramic trays can all be repaired, or resurface the entire tray if it’s worn. Nothing is taken out, so the screen and tiling stay as they are. Our repair technicians work on acrylic, cast iron and enamelled steel, and people most often call us about chipped corners or rims and a tray that looks tired however much you clean it.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re covered after the visit.

What shower tray repair costs

Repairs from £95. Each job gets its own fixed quote. This is what makes a difference:

  • The material and finish
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Access to the area
  • How much damage there is

The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You will see the full price before you book.

Send pictures for a quote

Phone pictures are fine, there is no need for anything special. Just ensure we can see:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Details of any past repairs
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.

Signs you need shower tray repair in Fovant

Send us a picture if you notice any of these:

  • A tray that looks tired however much you clean it
  • A tray that creaks or moves underfoot
  • Chips or cracks by the plughole
  • Chipped corners or rims

Questions to ask before booking

  • What happens if they find more damage
  • What preparation is included
  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers

Fovant questions

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit normally costs less than separate visits. Include pictures of each item.

Is a cracked shower tray safe to use?

Not until you know the crack isn’t letting water through. Check the ceiling below for damp.

Do you come to Fovant?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Fovant. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Can you price it without visiting?

Nearly always. If photos don’t show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

What does shower tray repair cost?

Prices start from £95. We give a fixed quote from your photos. Send a close-up and a photo of the entire item with your SP3 postcode.

Do you reseal the tray as well?

Yes, if you’d like us to. After a repair is a good time to reseal.

Is there a call-out fee?

We don’t add a call-out fee. Your fixed price includes everything.

Keeping it looking good

Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:

  • Keep heavy bottles on a shelf
  • Check the seal every few months
  • Report any creaking or movement early
  • Stick to gentle cleaners

Rinse the tray after use, use mild, non-abrasive cleaners, and keep an eye on the sealant so water can’t get underneath.

Every shower forces a little water into a crack, and over months that can rot the floor. Getting it repaired quickly is much cheaper than fixing a floor.

What your shower tray is made of matters

Enamelled steel

Enamelled steel trays behave like steel baths. Exposed metal can rust, so early repairs help.

Ceramic

Ceramic trays are hard and glossy. Impacts can chip or crack them, and we match the gloss when we repair them.

The process

We begin by going over the job with you, so there are no surprises. After that, protection goes down around the work area and the work begins. It normally takes a few hours for a repair, longer for a full resurface, and we will tell you if anything changes.

  1. We protect the floor and the enclosure.
  2. Old sealant is removed if it’s in the way.
  3. We clean and key the tray, then repair the damage.
  4. We refinish the surface to match the tray.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when you can shower.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

What we cannot put right

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • Plumbing leaks under the tray
  • Damage below the tray that needs a builder
  • Multiple cracks across the tray

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Acrylic
  • Stone resin
  • Cast iron
  • Enamelled steel
  • Ceramic

DIY repairs versus a professional job

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
