Shower tray repair near Great Linford

For landlords and businesses

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Milton Keynes and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Great Linford as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

About our shower tray repair in Great Linford

The first thing we do is check the tray: a tray that moves needs its support sorted first, otherwise any crack returns. We’ll tell you if that is the case. We are often asked to fix damage from a refit or building work and chips on the edges, across acrylic, ceramic and cast iron.

All our work comes with our one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Milton Keynes.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a tray generally means removing the screen and tiling, relaying the base and tiling again. Repairing or resurfacing the tray leaves all of that alone. Prices start from £95. Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

What you get with us

  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • No extra charge for your area
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK

The process

Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you and checks the damage against your pictures first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. The work itself takes a few hours, or most of a day for a full resurface, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. We protect the floor and the enclosure.
  2. Any sealant in the way is cut out.
  3. We clean and key the tray, then repair the damage.
  4. The surface is refinished to match.
  5. We clean up and give you the curing time.

How to prepare

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

Advice

What affects the price in Great Linford

Repairs from £95. We do not charge extra for travel to Great Linford. The price depends on:

  • The material and finish
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Access to the area

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Send pictures for a quote

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • Any details about the material
  • One picture of the entire shower tray
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. There is no charge for the quote and no obligation.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Stone resin

Stone resin trays are heavy and rigid with a gel-coat finish. They crack if the base isn’t fully supported, and chips can be filled and matched.

Looking after it afterwards

Looking after the surface is easy:

  • Check the seal every few months
  • Store bottles off the tray
  • Give the tray a quick rinse after use
  • Get a moving tray checked

Rinse the tray down after showering, use mild, non-abrasive cleaners, and keep an eye on the sealant so water cannot get underneath.

Act on split sealant early. Water gets behind and under the tray and can cause damage underneath.
