Shower tray repair near Nottingham

About our shower tray repair in Nottingham

We repair plenty of shower trays. Chips by the waste, cracks across the base and dull, stained surfaces are all things we fix in place. We work on enamelled steel, stone resin and cast iron, and common reasons people contact us are a tray that looks tired however much you clean it and cracks running from the waste.

Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before booking.

Looking after it afterwards

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Do not use strong acids or bleach
  • Stick to gentle cleaners
  • Give the tray a quick rinse after use
  • Use the extractor fan

Check the silicone around the tray every few months, and reseal when it starts to fail.

Stop using the shower if the tray is cracked. Water may be getting under the tray, and the damage below is not visible.

What we cannot put right

Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs will not solve:

  • Leaking waste fittings
  • Rotten or damaged flooring underneath
  • A tray broken in more than one place

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

Surfaces we repair

  • Ceramic
  • Stone resin
  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron
  • Enamelled steel

How it works

We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you’re not left guessing. On site, it takes a few hours, or most of the day to resurface the whole tray. The room is left tidy and ready to use once it has cured.

  1. The surrounding area is sheeted and masked.
  2. Old sealant is removed if it’s in the way.
  3. We clean and key the tray, then repair the damage.
  4. The surface is refinished to match.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when you can shower.

Before we arrive

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Advice

Should you replace it?

Trays sit under the screen and tiles, so taking one out disturbs a lot. Repairing it avoids that disruption. Prices start from £95. A repair normally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Why book with us

  • Straight answers about what a repair can do
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • No extra charge for your area

See our pricing.

Can I fix it myself?

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Common questions in Nottingham

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

When can you do it?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send pictures with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

Can you price it without visiting?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Is a cracked shower tray safe to use?

Only if you’re sure it isn’t leaking. Look for damp or stains below.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Is there a call-out fee?

There’s no separate call-out charge. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders in Nottingham.

What affects the price in Nottingham

Prices start from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Access to the area
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Getting a price from pictures

Photographing the damage takes a minute. Try to send:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • The material, if you know it

We price from pictures so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.

When to call us in Nottingham

  • Chips caused during fitting
  • Staining and dullness across the tray
  • A damaged area around the waste
  • Scratches from cleaning or grit

  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT

10 questions to ask before booking

For landlords and businesses

For anyone letting property in or around Nottingham, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send photos for each address and we will come back with a combined price.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
