Shower tray repair at your home in Ridgeway

We repair cracks, chips and scratches in stone resin, acrylic and ceramic trays, or resurface the entire tray if it’s worn. Nothing is taken out, so the enclosure and tiles aren’t disturbed. We work on stone resin, ceramic and enamelled steel, and common reasons people contact us are damage around the waste and a tray that creaks or moves underfoot.

Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

How we price shower tray repair

Repairs from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How much damage there is
  • The material
  • Unusual colours or finishes

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You will see the full price before you book, with no extras added later.

Quotes from your photos

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what to send:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Something in shot to show the size

We price from photos so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.

How the visit works

You don’t need to empty the room. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. It normally takes a few hours for a repair, longer for a full resurface, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. The surrounding area is sheeted and masked.
  2. Any sealant in the way is cut out.
  3. We clean and key the tray, then repair the damage.
  4. The surface is refinished to match.
  5. We clean up and give you the curing time.

Preparing for the visit

  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

Getting a price

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three pictures through our quote form or ring us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

Signs you need shower tray repair in Ridgeway

Dull and stained trays are typically down to cleaning: limescale, harsh chemicals and abrasive pads wear the finish away.

You may need us if you’ve spotted any of these:

  • A crack across the base
  • Scratches from cleaning or grit
  • A tray that flexes
  • Chipped corners or rims

Our hiring checklist

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

Repairing versus replacing in Ridgeway

The tray itself may not cost much, but the work around it does: removing the screen, breaking out tiles, relaying the base and re-tiling. A repair is one visit. Our shower tray repair starts from £95. A repair normally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send pictures and we’ll give you the exact figure.

Why Ridgeway clients choose us

  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Everything repaired in place

You’ll get the exact time when we finish, generally the following day.

Can you replace the silicone at the same time?

Yes, if you’d like us to. It’s a good time to replace old sealant.

Is there any odour?

There may be a mild smell during the work, which fades afterwards.

Do you work in Ridgeway?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Ridgeway for every job, with no extra charge for travel.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day.

Is there a guarantee?

All our work carries our one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.

Will it make a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Just make sure the landlord agrees.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Stone resin

Stone resin trays are heavy and rigid with a gel-coat finish. Poor support underneath leads to cracks, and chips can be filled and matched.

Ceramic

Ceramic trays are hard and glossy. They chip and crack from impact, and we match the gloss when we repair them.

Keeping it looking good

Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:

  • Get a moving tray checked
  • Clean with washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
  • Keep heavy bottles on a shelf
  • Keep harsh chemicals off the tray

Rinse the tray after use, clean with mild cleaners, and keep the sealant in good condition so water can’t get underneath.

A small crack lets in a little water every time you shower, which can damage the floor over time. Getting it repaired quickly is much cheaper than fixing a floor.
