Questions from Weaste

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

When can you do it?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send photos with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

Is the work guaranteed?

All our work carries our one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

Will you leave a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

Is a cracked tray repairable?

In most cases. If the tray moves, the support needs fixing first.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.

What areas do you cover?

Everywhere in the UK, Weaste included. Travel is included in the price.

What do you need from me?

Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we will take it from there.

How it works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. It usually takes a few hours, or most of the day to resurface the whole tray, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. We check the tray is firmly supported and find the cause of any crack.
  2. Next we clean and prepare the tray.
  3. We fill and reinforce chips and cracks, then sand them flush.
  4. We colour-match the repair, or spray a new finish across the whole tray.
  5. We leave it to cure; the shower is usually usable the next day.

How to prepare

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

How to get a price

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job the same day in most cases.

Related advice

What your shower tray is made of matters

Stone resin

Stone resin is a dense, rigid material with a smooth gel coat. Poor support underneath leads to cracks, and chips can be filled and matched.

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

When a repair isn’t the answer

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Damage below the tray that needs a builder
  • Multiple cracks across the tray
  • A tray that flexes because it was never properly supported

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron
  • Ceramic
  • Stone resin
  • Enamelled steel

When to call us in Weaste

A tired-looking tray is often the result of years of cleaning: abrasive pads, strong chemicals and limescale strip the surface finish.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • Edge chips from dropped bottles
  • A cracked shower tray
  • Chips or cracks by the plughole
  • Scratches in the surface

Before you book anyone

Our hiring checklist

Can I fix it myself?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. There’s no charge for travel to Weaste. The price comes down to:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • The material
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Access to the area

Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Quotes from your photos

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To make it quick:

  • Something in shot to show the size
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Details of any past repairs
  • Where you are, by postcode

There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Landlord and trade work in Weaste

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

How to look after the repair

To keep it looking its best for years:

  • Keep heavy bottles on a shelf
  • Clean with washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
  • Give the tray a quick rinse after use
  • Keep the bathroom well ventilated

Keep an eye on the sealant, and reseal when it starts to fail.

If the tray creaks or moves, get it checked, before it cracks.
