How bath repair works in M5
We have repaired just about every kind of bath damage: chips from dropped bottles, rust round the plughole, cracks in acrylic and holes from falling tools. All of it is repaired where the bath stands with a one-year guarantee. Common call-outs are for rust by the waste and overflow and chips caused by builders, in pressed steel enamel, roll-top & freestanding and whirlpool & spa baths.
Arrival times are agreed in advance. Once we’re there, the work takes a few hours for most jobs. The room is left tidy and ready to use once it has cured.
- Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
- The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
- Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.
What you will pay
Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Signs you need bath repair
Many chips happen while the bathroom is being fitted. Tradespeople drop tools and tiles into the bath, often before anyone notices. We repair snagging damage like this regularly.
The most common problems we’re called about are:
- Damage done while the bathroom was being fitted
- Chips under the taps
- A hole punched through by something heavy
- A cracked acrylic bath
Keeping it looking good
Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts:
- Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
- Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
- Give the bath a quick rinse after use
- Check that an acrylic bath does not move when you stand in it
Leave the repair to cure for as long as we say before running a bath. After that, gentle cleaning keeps it looking good.
If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath until it’s repaired. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.
What bath repair costs
Prices start from £95. You won’t pay by the hour. The price is based on:
- The colour and finish to match
- How easy the damage is to reach
- The type of damage
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.
Getting a price from photos
The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole bath, we can give you a fixed price the same day in most cases.
Should you replace it?
When the bath is otherwise sound, repairing beats replacing. It’s quicker, cheaper and far less disruptive, and the bathroom stays as it is. Where the whole surface is tired, we may suggest re-enamelling instead.
Questions to ask before booking
- What protection goes down before work starts
- Whether the price covers travel
- Whether they match the colour on site
- The length of the guarantee and what it covers
Should I try a DIY kit first?
The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.
A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
FAQs for M5
Do you work in M5?
Yes. We work across the UK and travel to M5. Send photos and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
Is repairing better than replacing?
In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.
Do you cover the whole of Greater Manchester?
All of Greater Manchester, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.
What happens if you find more damage?
If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.
Can you repair something that is been repaired before?
Generally, yes. Let us know what was used before.
Is there a call-out fee?
No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.
Do the materials smell?
Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, so we ventilate the room. It fades as everything cures.
