Tile repair in Dale, done in place

We repair the tile in place, so there is no need to hunt for a matching tile. A loose or rocking tile may need relaying first, and we’ll say so. We regularly repair natural stone & granite, floor and wall tiles and marble, and common reasons people contact us are drill holes from removed fittings and discontinued tiles you can’t replace.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover. Avoid dropping heavy items on repaired floor tiles, and clean with a pH-neutral cleaner.

Can I fix it myself?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

What tile repair costs

Prices start from £95. There’s no area surcharge for Dale. The price reflects:

  • The type of damage
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

How to get a fixed quote

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • What it’s made of, if you know

Upload photos of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, with your SA62 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.

Honest limits

Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs will not solve:

  • Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
  • Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
  • Whole walls of failing grout

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.

What we work on

  • Natural stone & granite
  • Porcelain tiles
  • Ceramic tiles
  • Marble
  • Floor and wall tiles

Work for landlords and builders

Letting agents frequently send us pictures straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

For anyone letting property in or around Dale, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send pictures for each address and we will price them together.

What we’re called out for in Dale

Floor tiles chip when pans, tins and tools are dropped, and wall tiles get drilled for fittings that are later removed. Movement underneath can also crack tiles.

Look out for these signs:

  • Cracked floor tiles
  • Chips from dropped pans and tools
  • Discontinued tiles you can’t replace
  • Damaged tile edges

What your quote should include

  • How soon you can use it again
  • Who will actually do the work
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • Aftercare advice

FAQs for Dale

Is the work guaranteed?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Are there extra charges for Dale?

There’s no separate call-out charge. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

What about drill holes in tiles?

Yes. Drill holes from old rails and shelves are a common job.

What areas do you cover?

All of Pembrokeshire, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.

The process

There is not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll take it from there. Most visits take a few hours, including clearing up.

  1. First the tile is cleaned and loose pieces removed.
  2. We fill the chip, crack or hole.
  3. The repair is levelled to the tile surface.
  4. We match the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. We seal the repair to suit the finish of the tile.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Open a window if you can

Repairing versus replacing in Dale

Swapping out a damaged tile involves breaking out the old tile, tracking down a matching tile and possibly cracking its neighbours. A repair leaves the tile where it is. Prices start from £95. Compared with replacing, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.
