Book tile repair in Elmore

Should I try a DIY kit first?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

Tile repair in Elmore without replacing anything

The tile stays where it is, so you do not need to find a spare. A loose or rocking tile may need relaying first, and we will say so. If you’re dealing with drill holes from removed fittings and cracked floor tiles, we can help, on ceramic tiles, natural stone & granite and porcelain tiles alike.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it. Take care with heavy items on repaired tiles, and clean with a pH-neutral cleaner.

What we do, step by step

Once we’re through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the job takes a morning or an afternoon, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. First the tile is cleaned and loose pieces removed.
  2. The chip, crack or hole is filled.
  3. The repair is levelled to the tile surface.
  4. The colour and pattern are recreated by hand.
  5. Finally we seal it to match the tile.

Before we arrive

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

Should you replace it?

Replacing a tile means breaking it out, tracking down a matching tile and risking the tiles around it. A repair keeps the original tile. Our tile repair starts from £95. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Elmore. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

When we would advise against a repair

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
  • Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
  • Whole walls of failing grout

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.

What affects the price in Elmore

Prices start from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before you book. We look at:

  • The type of damage
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

How to get a fixed quote

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To make it quick:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Details of any past repairs
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

To get a price, send two or three pictures using our quote form or call us. We’ll say straight away whether it can be repaired.

Choosing a repair company

Elmore: your questions answered

Can a cracked tile be fixed in place?

Usually, as long as it’s still firmly stuck down.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Is the work guaranteed?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.
