Trusted tile repair in Lane Head

About our tile repair in Lane Head

The tile stays where it is, so there is no need to hunt for a matching tile. A loose or rocking tile may need relaying first, and we’ll say so. We are often asked to fix damaged tile edges and cracked floor tiles, on marble, porcelain tiles and natural stone & granite.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it. Avoid dropping heavy items on repaired floor tiles, and use a pH-neutral cleaner.

When a repair isn’t the answer

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
  • Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
  • Whole walls of failing grout

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before booking.

What we work on

  • Porcelain tiles
  • Ceramic tiles
  • Floor and wall tiles
  • Marble
  • Natural stone & granite

How the visit works

You don’t need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you are happy with the plan. Most jobs take a few hours, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. We start by cleaning the tile and clearing loose fragments.
  2. Next we fill the damage.
  3. We level and shape the repair to the tile surface.
  4. We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. Finally we seal it to match the tile.

Preparing for the visit

  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Advice

For landlords and businesses

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • What the surface is made of
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How hard the colour is to match

Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

How to get a fixed quote

Phone pictures are fine. Make sure they show:

  • Any details about the material
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • A wider photo showing the entire tiled area
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. Quotes are free and no obligation.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Swapping out a damaged tile means breaking it out, finding a match and risking the tiles around it. Repairing it leaves the tile where it is. Prices start from £95. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing generally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Why book with us

  • One visit for most repairs
  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Straight answers about what a repair can do
  • We leave the room as we found it

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.
