Tile repair in Little Mill

Tile repair at your home in Little Mill

A loose or rocking tile may need relaying first, and we will tell you. We repair the tile in place, so you don’t need to find a spare. We are often asked to fix chips from dropped pans and tools and discontinued tiles you can’t replace, on floor and wall tiles, marble and porcelain tiles.

All our work is covered by our one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Torfaen. Avoid dropping heavy items on repaired floor tiles, and use a pH-neutral cleaner.

Little Mill questions

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

You’ll get a fixed quote back. There is no obligation to book.

What information do you need?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we’ll take it from there.

Can landlords book you?

Yes, often. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

Can you quote from photos?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the photos cannot show what we need.

Is there a call-out fee?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Can you fill holes left by old fittings?

Yes. We fill drill holes from removed fittings.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a tile means breaking it out, tracking down a matching tile and risking the tiles around it. A repair keeps the original tile. Prices start from £95. We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Little Mill. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

What happens on the day

When we visit, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take a morning or an afternoon. We clean up when we’re done and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. We clean the tile and remove loose fragments.
  2. We fill the chip, crack or hole.
  3. The repair is levelled to the tile surface.
  4. The colour and pattern are recreated by hand.
  5. The repair is sealed to suit the tile’s finish.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

Advice

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. You won’t pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • What kind of damage it is

We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Quotes from your photos

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • One picture of the entire tiled area
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed quote the same day in most cases.

Landlord and trade work in Little Mill

For anyone letting property in or around Little Mill, we will quote for several properties at once. Send photos for each one and we’ll come back with a combined price.

Letting agents often send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Can I fix it myself?

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.
