Landlord and trade work in New Zealand
We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in New Zealand as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it generally costs far less than a refit.
Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.
Tile repair in New Zealand, done in place
The tile stays where it is, so there is no need to hunt for a matching tile. If a tile moves, it may need relaying first, and we’ll tell you. If you are dealing with cracked floor tiles and chips from dropped pans and tools, we can normally put it right, whatever the material.
A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re covered after the visit. Avoid dropping heavy items on repaired floor tiles, and use a pH-neutral cleaner.

Why repair rather than replace?
Replacing a tile means breaking it out, finding a match and possibly cracking its neighbours. Repairing it leaves the tile where it is. Our tile repair starts from £95. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.

What we can’t put right
In fairness, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:
- Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
- Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
- Whole walls of failing grout
Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before booking.
Materials we repair
- Ceramic tiles
- Floor and wall tiles
- Natural stone & granite
- Porcelain tiles
- Marble
The process
We work cleanly and quietly, so you can carry on at home. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes a few hours. Before we leave, we explain the curing time and the aftercare.
- We start by cleaning the tile and clearing loose fragments.
- We fill the chip, crack or hole.
- The repair is levelled to the tile surface.
- We match the colour and pattern by hand.
- Finally we seal it to match the tile.
Preparing for the visit
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Make sure the room can be ventilated

Related advice
Should I try a DIY kit first?
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

Typically, if it is not loose.
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Is it safe with children and pets around?
Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we’re working in. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.
How soon can you come?

How we price tile repair
Repairs from £95. We give every job a fixed price from pictures. This is what makes a difference:
- How many items we do on one visit
- The material and finish
- How hard the colour is to match
- Access to the area
Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.
Send pictures for a quote
Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole tiled area, we can give you a fixed quote.
What we’re called out for in New Zealand
Floor tiles chip when pans, tins and tools are dropped, and wall tiles get drilled for fittings that are later removed. Movement underneath can also crack tiles.
You may need us if you’ve spotted:
- Chips from dropped pans and tools
- Damaged tile edges
- Discontinued tiles you cannot replace
- Cracked floor tiles
What your quote should include
- What protection goes down before work starts
- How long it needs to cure
- The length of the guarantee and what it covers
- Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
