Tile repair for South Church homes

About our tile repair in South Church

We repair the tile in place, so you don’t need to find a spare. A loose or rocking tile may need relaying first, and we will say so. Whether it’s chips from dropped pans and tools and cracked floor tiles, we can help, whatever the material.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you are not left on your own once we’ve gone. Take care with heavy items on repaired tiles, and use a pH-neutral cleaner.

Will it make a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we have finished.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Usually, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

10 questions to ask before booking

For landlords and businesses

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, pictures and access details and we’ll arrange it.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Swapping out a damaged tile involves breaking out the old tile, tracking down a matching tile and possibly cracking its neighbours. Repairing it leaves the tile where it is. Prices start from £95. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

What you get with us

  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Same prices wherever you are
  • Fixed prices from your photos
  • Colour-matched on site

The process

On the day, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. The job usually takes a morning or an afternoon. We clean up when we’re done and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. First the tile is cleaned and loose pieces removed.
  2. Next we fill the damage.
  3. The repair is levelled to the tile surface.
  4. We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. Finally we seal it to match the tile.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Ask for a price

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

DIY kit or professional repair?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

What we cannot put right

We’d rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
  • Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
  • Whole walls of failing grout

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. There’s no charge for travel to South Church. The price depends on:

  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

Email us photos of the damage and one of the whole item, with your DL14 postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.
