About our tile repair in Twynholm

We repair the tile in place, so there is no need to hunt for a matching tile. If a tile moves, it may need relaying first, and we will say so. We work on natural stone & granite, floor and wall tiles and marble, and common reasons people contact us are drill holes from removed fittings and damaged tile edges.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you are not left on your own once we’ve gone. Avoid dropping heavy items on repaired floor tiles, and clean with a pH-neutral cleaner.

Can I fix it myself?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

What we do, step by step

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can carry on at home. We protect the area first, then the work takes a few hours. At the end we talk you through the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. First the tile is cleaned and loose pieces removed.
  2. Next we fill the damage.
  3. We shape the repair flush with the tile.
  4. The colour and pattern are recreated by hand.
  5. The repair is sealed to suit the tile’s finish.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

When a repair is not the answer

A repair is not always the answer, and we would rather say so up front. We cannot fix:

  • Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
  • Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
  • Whole walls of failing grout

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Signs you need tile repair in Twynholm

Floor tiles chip when pans, tins and tools are dropped, while walls end up with drill holes from old fittings. Movement underneath can also crack tiles.

Contact us if you’ve noticed any of these:

  • Drill holes from removed fittings
  • Damaged tile edges
  • Cracked floor tiles
  • Chips from dropped pans and tools

What to look for in a quote

  • What aftercare is recommended
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges

How to compare quotes

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. Prices are worked out job by job, from your pictures. What matters most is:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The type of damage
  • Access to the area
  • The material

Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Quotes from your pictures

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Any details about the material

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you will get a fixed figure back.

Questions from Twynholm

When can you do it?

Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Are you accredited?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Can you repair several things at once?

Of course, and it generally saves money. Send pictures of everything together and you will get one combined price.

Do I have to be there?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We look at the photos and reply with a fixed price and some dates. If we need another angle, we will ask.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.

Will the price change on the day?

We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

What areas do you cover?

We cover the whole UK, including Twynholm and the rest of Dumfries and Galloway. Send your postcode with your photos and we will confirm dates.

Work for landlords and builders

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Twynholm use us as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

Letting agents frequently send us pictures straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Repair or replace in Twynholm?

Replacing a tile involves breaking out the old tile, finding a match and risking the tiles around it. A repair leaves the tile where it is. Our tile repair starts from £95. There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
