Toilet chip repair for Deal homes

Toilet chip repair in Deal, done in place

Leaking cracks need the toilet replacing, and we will say so if we find one. Chips are rebuilt and colour-matched to the glaze, so the toilet stays in place. We regularly repair toilet pans, pedestals and cisterns & lids, and the jobs we see most are chips on the cistern lid and pieces knocked off during fitting.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Deal as everywhere else we work. Take care with heavy items and clean the outside of the pan gently.

What a repair can’t fix

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits:

  • A crack that leaks water
  • A crack through the bowl or trap
  • A loose pan or leaking seal (that’s a plumbing job)

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Materials we work on in Deal

  • Vitreous china

Common problems we fix in Deal

Most toilet chips happen while the bathroom is being fitted, or from a dropped lid or bottle. Cistern lids are a common casualty.

The most common problems we are called about are:

  • Damage from dropped items
  • Chips on the pan or rim
  • Marks on the outside of the pan
  • Chips on the cistern lid

Questions to ask before you book

10 questions to ask before you book

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

What we do, step by step

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can carry on at home. Protection goes down first, then the work takes an hour or two. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. We clean and dry the damaged area.
  2. Next we rebuild the missing piece to its original shape.
  3. We sand it flush.
  4. The glaze is colour matched and finished.
  5. Finally we polish it into the surrounding glaze.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Ensure the area is dry

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. You will not pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How much damage there is
  • The material and finish
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Quotes from your pictures

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:

  • The material, if you know it
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

To get a price, send two or three pictures through our quote form or call us. We will say immediately whether it can be repaired.

Work for landlords and builders

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Kent and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

Questions from Deal

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

The price is fixed for what the pictures show. If there is more, we’ll tell you before starting.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit generally costs less than separate visits. Include pictures of each item.

Which areas do you work in?

We work UK-wide, and that includes Deal. Our prices are the same everywhere.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

Can you repair a chipped toilet?

Yes. We repair chips on pans, rims, cisterns and lids.

When can you do it?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send photos with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.

Repairing versus replacing in Deal

A new toilet needs a plumber and sometimes new flooring around the pan, and the matching cistern may be discontinued. Repairing the chip leaves it in place. Our toilet chip repair starts from £95. Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.
