DIY kit or professional repair?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.

Toilet chip repair in East Dean, done in place

Chips are rebuilt and colour-matched to the glaze, so the toilet stays in place. Leaking cracks need the toilet replacing, and we’ll say so if we find one. Typical jobs include damage from dropped items and chips on the pan or rim, in vitreous china, porcelain and toilet pans.

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Wiltshire. Take care with heavy items and use non-abrasive cleaners on the outside of the pan and cistern.

How we price toilet chip repair

Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including East Dean. The price reflects:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • The size and number of damaged areas

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Getting a price from photos

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • The material, if you know it
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed price back. There is no charge for the quote and no obligation.

Landlord and trade work in East Dean

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we’ll handle the rest.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Questions from East Dean

What happens after I send photos?

We come back with a fixed price, normally with dates to choose from. You’re under no obligation.

What about a leaking crack?

No. That needs a new toilet. We repair cosmetic chips and breaks.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Just add the extra items to your photos and we’ll quote them together.

Can you quote from photos?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the photos cannot show what we need.

How do I get a price for toilet chip repair in East Dean?

Prices start from £95. Because every job differs, we price from pictures. You will get a fixed figure before booking.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

Can you repair a chipped toilet?

Yes. We repair chips on pans, rims, cisterns and lids.

Will there be a smell?

Expect a mild smell while we’re working, which fades afterwards.

10 questions to ask before you book

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a toilet means a plumber and sometimes new flooring around the pan, and a matching cistern may no longer be made. A repair keeps the toilet you have. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

What we do, step by step

There is not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will take it from there. The job generally runs to an hour or two, including clearing up.

  1. We clean and dry the damaged area.
  2. Missing material is filled and rebuilt to the original shape.
  3. We sand the repair level.
  4. The glaze is colour matched and finished.
  5. Finally we polish it into the surrounding glaze.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

How to get a price

Send us a photo of the damage and one of the entire item, with your SP5 postcode, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

Advice

When a repair isn’t the answer

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • A crack that leaks water
  • A crack through the bowl or trap
  • A loose pan or leaking seal (that’s a plumbing job)

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.
