Choosing a repair company

uPVC repair in Little Ireland, done in place

The damage is filled and refinished to match the frame, including woodgrain finishes. Builders and developers use us for snagging repairs too. We work on white uPVC, coloured and woodgrain uPVC and doors & door panels, and people most frequently call us about chips and dents and burns on sills.

Every job is backed for twelve months. We return to put right any problem with the work. Warm soapy water and a soft cloth are all it needs. Avoid solvents and abrasive cleaners.

How we price uPVC repair

Prices start from £95. You will know the full cost before you book. We take into account:

  • The material
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • What kind of damage it is
  • The colour and finish to match

We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Send pictures for a quote

Two or three clear photos are usually enough. Try to include:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Where you are, by postcode

Most clients in Little Ireland get their price from photos. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.

Little Ireland questions

Do you come to Little Ireland?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Little Ireland for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

How soon can you come?

Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Do you do work for letting agents?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Can you repair a burn on a uPVC sill?

Yes. The burn is filled and refinished to match.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Just ensure the landlord agrees.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Just add the extra items to your pictures and you will get one combined price.

Is there any odour?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, which is why we ventilate. It clears as the materials cure.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Usually, yes. The old repair comes out first.

Work for landlords and builders

Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

The process

We turn up at the time we agreed with you and checks the damage against your photos first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. Most visits take a few hours, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. We clean the frame or panel.
  2. Next we fill the damage.
  3. We smooth the repair.
  4. The finish is colour-matched, woodgrain included.
  5. Finally we blend it into the rest of the frame.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated

Getting a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the window, door or sill, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

Advice

Should you replace it?

A new window, door or sill is a much bigger job, and new uPVC may not match the weathered frames around it. A repair keeps the original. Prices start from £95. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing usually costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
