Bath repair across M1: what to expect
We see every kind of bath damage: dropped-bottle chips, plughole rust, acrylic cracks and impact holes. Each is repaired in place. Our repair technicians work on acrylic, roll-top & freestanding and pressed steel enamel, and people most often call us about chips under the taps and deep scratches in acrylic.
The work is clean and fairly quiet. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes a morning or an afternoon. Before we leave, we explain the curing time and the aftercare.
- First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
- We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
- We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
- We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
- We leave it to cure; you can typically use the bath the day after.
Cost
Our bath repair starts from £95. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for M1. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Repairs by material
Pressed steel
Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so early repairs matter.
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
What a repair can’t fix
We’d rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:
- Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
- Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
- A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
Keeping it looking good
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Give the bath a quick rinse after use
- Check that an acrylic bath doesn’t move when you stand in it
- Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
- Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and avoid dropping heavy items on the repaired area. Deal with new chips early, before rust sets in.
Stop using the bath if a crack lets water through until it’s repaired. Water under the bath can damage the floor and the ceiling below.
Should you replace it?
Replacing a bath rarely stops at the bath: the tiles sitting on the rim tend to break, a new panel is frequently needed, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. A repair skips all of it.

Work for landlords and builders
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.
Your questions about bath repair in M1
Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?
Normally, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Check under the bath panel, or send us a picture.
Will the repair last?
Done properly, a repair lasts for years, and it’s guaranteed for a year. Gentle cleaning helps.
Do you do work for letting agents?
We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just make sure the landlord agrees.
Is there any odour?
There may be a mild smell during the work, which fades afterwards.
What if the damage is worse than the photos show?
We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.
Do I have to be there?
Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.
