Worktop repair in Barne Barton without replacing anything
Each type of worktop needs a different approach: we fill and pattern laminate, fill and polish quartz and stone, and sand and refinish wood. The goal is always a repair that blends in. We are often asked to fix chips in quartz or granite and chipped corners, across solid surface (such as Corian), granite & marble and quartz.

Aftercare tips
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Keep wood oiled
- Always use a trivet for hot pans
- Chopping boards prevent scratches
- Do not let water sit on joints
Leave the repaired area free of hot or heavy items until it has cured. After that, trivets and chopping boards protect it best.
Edge chips can get bigger, and on laminate, water can get into the core. An early repair prevents it.

- Chips near the sink
- Knife marks

- How to look after the finish
- Whether the colour is mixed to match
- What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
- How the room is protected while they work
What worktop repair costs
Prices start from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We look at:
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- How much damage there is
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Barne Barton. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
Getting a price from photos
Two or three clear photos are generally enough. It helps if you send:
- A photo taken from further back
- Where you are, by postcode
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- What it’s made of, if you know
Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire worktop, we can price the job.
When a repair is not the answer
To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair will not fix:
- Severe heat marks in quartz
- Laminate that has blown or swollen
- Through cracks in stone that is moving
Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.
Surfaces we repair

Should I try a DIY kit first?
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
The process
There’s not much you need to do on the day. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll get on with it. Most visits take a morning or an afternoon, tidy-up included.
- We start by checking the damage and the worktop material.
- We clean the area and prepare the edges of the damage.
- A filler that suits the material goes in, and missing edges are rebuilt.
- We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
- Finally we seal or finish the area to match.
How to prepare
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
