What we do, step by step
You don’t need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we are doing. It typically takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- We look at the damage and the worktop’s finish.
- Burnt or loose material is cut back.
- We fill and shape the damaged area.
- We recreate the pattern, flecks or grain.
- We finish it to match the sheen and leave it to cure.
Getting ready for the visit
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

Related advice
What worktop repair costs
Repairs from £95. You will know the full cost before you book. We take into account:
- Whether we combine several jobs
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- The material
- How easy the damage is to reach
Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.
Quotes from your pictures
A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- One picture of the whole worktop
- Where you are, by postcode
- Details of any past repairs
Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole worktop, we can give you a fixed quote.

Repairing versus replacing in Keyham
Swollen or badly damaged laminate may need replacing. For chips, burns and scratches, a repair is the better value. Our worktop repair starts from £95. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

What we can’t put right
In fairness, some problems need a different fix:
- Water-swollen laminate
- A worktop that has moved because its support has failed
- Deep heat discolouration in quartz, which may not fully disappear
Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.
What we work on
- Granite & marble
- Solid wood
- Solid surface (such as Corian)
- Quartz
- Laminate
How to care for the repair
Aftercare is simple:
- Keep a trivet by the hob
- Dry around the sink and joints
- Don’t leave spills to soak in
- Chopping boards prevent scratches
Let the repair cure for the time we give you before putting anything heavy or hot on it. After that, trivets and chopping boards are your best protection.
Edge chips can get bigger, and on laminate, water can get into the core. Repairing it early stops that.
Can I fix it myself?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.
