How we handle worktop repair in Cam
Worktops are expensive to replace and hard to match, especially in an L-shaped or long kitchen. A repair leaves the kitchen untouched. We regularly repair solid surface (such as Corian), laminate and quartz, and the jobs we see most are a heat mark or burn and a damaged sink edge.
Every repair is covered by a one-year guarantee.

Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £95. We price every job individually, from your photos. The main factors are:
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- Doing more than one item at once
- Access to the area
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
Quotes from your photos
You can usually get a fixed price without us visiting. To make it quick:
- A wider photo showing the entire worktop
- The material, if you know it
- Natural light rather than flash
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
If you are in Cam and want a price, pictures are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.
For landlords and businesses
For anyone letting property in or around Cam, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send pictures for each address and we’ll price them together.
For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. We can visit several plots in one trip.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Granite and stone
Natural stone worktops chip at edges and around cut-outs. We fill and polish the repair to match the stone.
Laminate
Laminate worktops have a printed decorative layer over a board core. We fill the damage and recreate the pattern by hand.
Why repair rather than replace?
Stone and quartz tops are templated and cut to fit, so replacing one section is a big job. A repair takes a few hours. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Cam. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

What we do, step by step
We turn up when we said we would and checks the damage against your pictures first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. The work itself takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and we leave the room as we found it.
- First, we check the damage and the finish we need to match.
- We cut back any burnt or loose material.
- The area is filled and shaped.
- We recreate the pattern, flecks or grain.
- We finish it to match the sheen and leave it to cure.
How to prepare
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Make sure the room can be ventilated
- Keep a parking space free if you can
Getting a price
A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole worktop, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.
Related advice
What we cannot put right
Some jobs aren’t right for a repair, including:
- Water-swollen laminate
- Failed support under the worktop
- A cracked stone top that is unsupported
Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.
What we work on
- Laminate
- Quartz
- Granite & marble
- Solid wood
- Solid surface (such as Corian)
Looking after it afterwards
Most damage we see is avoidable. These habits help:
- Never put hot pans down directly
- Wipe up spills quickly
- Don’t knock pans against the edge
- Avoid harsh chemicals on stone and quartz
Leave the repaired area free of hot or heavy items until it has cured. After that, trivets and chopping boards are your best protection.
Do not leave damage by the sink, as water can get in and cause swelling.
Questions from Cam
What happens after I send pictures?
We come back with a fixed quote. There’s no obligation to book.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
In most cases. The old repair comes out first, so mention it when you send pictures.
Will the repair match a patterned worktop?
Yes, the pattern is built up by hand.
Do you repair quartz?
Yes, often. The repair is colour matched and polished to the quartz’s finish.
How soon can you come?
It depends on the time of year and where you are. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.
Are there extra charges for Cam?
We do not add a call-out fee. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.
Will the price change on the day?
We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Can I fix it myself?
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.
The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.
